This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar browser technologies are used on rhodecar.gr, why they are used and how you can manage your choices.
Cookies are small files or identifiers stored by a website in your browser. Similar functions may also use browser local storage, which keeps preference information on your device without creating a traditional cookie.
2. Categories we use
RhodeCar uses technologies for different purposes:
- Essential: required for core website functions and the booking flow.
- Analytics: used, where permitted by your choice, to understand website usage and performance.
- Advertising measurement: used to measure advertising performance and attribute visits or conversions to the relevant campaign.
Essential technologies remain active because the website cannot operate correctly without them. Optional Google analytics and advertising storage are controlled through the cookie banner and Consent Mode.
3. Essential session cookie
The booking system uses the first-party cookie rhodecar_session to maintain the user session while searching, selecting a vehicle and moving through the booking process.
The cookie is renewed while the session remains active and expires approximately 3 hours after the last activity. It is used for technical continuity and does not contain your name, email or payment card details.
4. Storage of your consent choices
When you make a choice through the cookie banner, the website stores that preference in browser local storage so that the same question does not need to be shown on every page.
- rh_google_consent_v1 stores the selected analytics and advertising consent mode.
- rh_cookie_choice_v1 records that a choice has already been made.
These local-storage values remain until you change your preference or clear site data in your browser. They do not contain your name, email or telephone number.
5. First-party advertising attribution
When a visit contains a recognisable paid advertising signal, RhodeCar may use two first-party identifiers to preserve the source of that visit during the booking journey:
- sr_paid_vid — a random identifier for the paid visit.
- sr_paid_ck — a technical hash used to distinguish one paid click from another.
These identifiers expire after up to 30 days. They do not store a name, email address, telephone number or payment information.
The related server-side record may contain advertising parameters supplied in the landing URL, such as GCLID, GBRAID, WBRAID, UTM parameters, campaign, ad group, keyword, network or device. Hash values derived from technical information such as IP address and user agent may also be stored for visit differentiation.
These first-party attribution identifiers are technically separate from Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies.
6. Google Consent Mode
RhodeCar uses Google Consent Mode to communicate your cookie choices to the relevant Google services.
Before you make a choice, analytics storage, advertising storage, advertising user data and advertising personalisation are set to denied. If you give the corresponding consent, the relevant settings are updated to granted. Selecting “Essential only” keeps the optional categories denied.
7. Google Analytics
If analytics consent is enabled, Google Analytics may be used to understand how visitors use the website, including page visits, navigation, traffic sources and general website performance.
Google Analytics may use cookies such as _ga and _ga_*. The exact cookies and their duration can vary according to Google’s current service configuration.
Information entered into RhodeCar forms, such as your name, email address or telephone number, is not sent as such to Google Analytics for website traffic reporting.
8. Google Ads
If the relevant advertising consent is enabled, Google Ads technologies may be used for conversion measurement, campaign performance analysis and attribution of actions to advertising campaigns.
Google may use its own advertising cookies or identifiers depending on the services and settings in use. Their names and retention periods are determined by Google and may change over time.
9. Choices available in the cookie banner
When the cookie banner is shown, you can:
- Accept all optional categories.
- Select Essential only.
- Open Cookie settings and choose Analytics and Advertising separately.
Refusing optional cookies does not prevent you from browsing the website or submitting a booking request.
10. Changing or deleting your preferences
You can reopen Cookie settings at any time and change your previous selection. The updated choice is then applied to the relevant optional services.
You can also delete cookies and local-storage data through your browser settings. Clearing site data may cause the website to ask for your preferences again and may end an active booking session.

- _ga, _ga_* — Google Analytics — duration depends on Google’s configuration and is used only according to the applicable consent settings.
- Google Ads identifiers — advertising measurement — duration depends on the Google service and applicable consent settings.
12. Third-party services and personal data
Some optional technologies are provided by third parties such as Google. These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy policies.

13. Changes to this policy
This Cookie Policy may be updated when the technologies used by the website, the cookie configuration or legal requirements change.
